General Terms & Conditions

A 20% deposit may be asked for to confirm a booking. The deposit secures the time and services of the Steve Sykes Photography and is non refundable or transferable in the event of cancellation, it being the agreed loss suffered by the Steve Sykes Photography due to cancellation. If an event is postponed to a later date the deposit is retained as long as the Steve Sykes Photography can re-schedule for the new date and time but may be subject to a further deposit. Following payment of a deposit, the balance of payments must be paid on, or before the event date. Proof and media cannot be delivered unless payments due have been paid in full. 

The copyright of photographs and video remains with the Steve Sykes Photography. Steve Sykes Photography grants it’s client permission to make copies of digital media but these must only be used by the client and their personal friends and relatives. Media must not passed on to third parties without prior written permission from the Steve Sykes Photography.

All effort will be made to ensure the Clients receive the finished products within 2-4 weeks of the commencement date for photography and 2-6 weeks for videography. However, this time may extend during busier periods of work.

The minimum video resolution will be high definition (1920 by 1080 pixels) and photographs will be at minimum 12 megapixels. Steve Sykes Photography will provide a pleasing colour balance but cannot guarantee exact colour matching owing to anomalous reflectance caused by a combination of certain dyes and materials especially man-made fibres. It is sometimes impossible to record the exact colour as seen by the human eye. 

Steve Sykes Photography will retouch, digitally manipulate and finish according to the Client(s) discretion. Any retouching, digital manipulation or finishing which is requested by the Client(s) may be subject to an extra charge at the discretion of the Steve Sykes Photography.

Display 

Steve Sykes Photography may display any photographs included in this contract in his/her studio, portfolio, literature, display areas exhibitions, competitions, advertising or slide shows, and websites unless otherwise agreed by the parties involved.

Cancellation 

The client may cancel this contract at any time by giving written notice to the Steve Sykes Photography but in doing so shall forfeit any monies already paid. 

Steve Sykes Photography will not be solely responsible for the storage and maintenance of digital files, but will keep digital files intact and available to the client for at least a year.

Prices 

There will be no VAT charged in my prices as I am not VAT registered.

I have public liability insurance covering up to £1,000,000

Complaints 

Any complaints should first be raised by the client to the Photographer within 21 days from the receipt of media.
